BPMKEY FAQ | Free Music Analyzer Questions
Answers to common questions about BPMKEY, audio uploads, BPM, key detection, Camelot notation and free music analysis.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is BPMKEY completely free?
Yes. The visible core analyzer features are free to use. There are no locked Energy, Danceability or Happiness columns.
Which audio files are supported?
You can upload common formats including WAV, MP3, M4A, AAC, OGG and FLAC. Actual support can depend on the browser's audio decoder.
How does BPMKEY estimate BPM?
The browser analyzes audio patterns and rhythmic information to estimate tempo. Complex songs, live recordings and changing tempos may produce less precise results.
How does musical key detection work?
The analyzer examines frequency and pitch information to estimate a likely root note and major or minor mode. It then displays a corresponding Camelot notation.
What are Energy, Danceability and Happiness scores?
They are software-generated estimates based on measurable audio characteristics such as loudness, rhythmic activity, tempo and tonal qualities. They are not official streaming-platform scores.
Are my uploaded songs stored on BPMKEY?
The current analyzer is designed to process files in your browser. Review the Privacy Policy before using the live website because analytics, advertising or other services may have separate data practices.
Why does the BPM or key sometimes look incorrect?
Audio analysis is inherently approximate. Tracks with tempo changes, unusual tuning, sparse intros, remixes or complex arrangements can affect estimates.
Can I upload multiple tracks?
Yes. BPMKEY supports multiple file uploads and drag-and-drop for building a searchable music library.
Can I switch songs while previewing?
Yes. When you play another track, the previous track stops automatically and its button returns to the Play state.
How can I support BPMKEY?
You can use the optional Donate button. Donations are voluntary and help support future development.
